Née en 1960 à Morlaix (France), de formation scientifique, Marie-France Cadiou peint en autodidacte, et en suivant pendant plusieurs années des cours du soir à l’Ecole Municipale des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Brieuc. Elle participe à des groupes d’artistes dans sa ville, et expose régulièrement ses travaux. Membre du Collectif des artistes Plasticiens des Côtes d’Armor. Elle est sélectionnée en 2007 pour la troisième édition de la Biennale d’Art Contemporain « Le regard des autres » (Saint-Brieuc), et participe en 2008 à l’Euro Celtic Art à Lorient, ainsi qu’aux 111 des Arts à Toulouse.
"A partir d’un événement, d’une idée qui me touche, je peins des toiles non figuratives, que je structure au départ en y marouflant du papier kraft déchiré, froissé, ou bien en y appliquant des gels. Je superpose ensuite des couches de peinture acrylique, d’abord épaisses, déclinant les touches de pinceaux, étalant au couteau, grattant. Puis je recouvre avec des jus en transparence, je frotte, je joue avec l’eau qui laisse des traces, qui dilue. Coulures, graphismes, exploration de la couleur : l’ensemble se construit peu à peu, jusqu’à l’équilibre."
Born in 1960 in Morlaix (France), Of scientific formation, Marie-France Cadiou paints as an autodidact, and follows during several years evening classes at the Art school of Saint-Brieuc. She takes part in groups of artists in her city, and exposes its work regularly. She is a member of the Collective of artists Plastics technicians of the Cotes d’Armor.
She is selected in 2007 for the third edition of „Le regard des autres“, biennial of contemporary art (Saint-Brieuc), and takes part in 2008 in the Euro Celtic Art in Lorient, and to the „111 of Arts“ in Toulouse.
"Starting from an event, or an idea which touches me, I paint non figurative fabrics, which I organize at the beginning by strengthening there kraft paper torn, ruffled, or applying gels. I superimpose then layers of acrylic paint, declining keys of brushes, spreading out with the knife, scraping. Then I cover with juices in transparency, I rub, I play with the water which leaves traces, which dilutes. Run-outs, graphics, exploration of the color: the unit builts little by little, until balance."
